Heiress's extra home Sells for $14 Million

After nine years on the market, the legendary 52-acre estate of Huguette Clark in New Canaan finally continues to be sold, Realtor Barbara Cleary said Monday.

The property, which was listed at $15.9 million, was purchased for $14.3 million by DeLom LLC, based on Cleary, who would not reveal who’s behind the acquisition.

Real Estalker states that fashion designer and former Coach executive Reed Krakoff and the wife, interior designer Delphine Krakoff, who just sold their Upper East Side mansion for an astounding $51 million, would be the proud new owners.

New Canaan realtor Barbara Cleary says she believes the best buyers have been found for that property.

‘There is a keen appreciation for the rarity and unique history of this beautiful estate,’ she told New Canaan News.

Ms. Cleary also said the pair intended to restore and renovate both the house and also the property. She also said the buyers are ‘creative’ plus they intend to live there.

The 22-room estate has been vacant in excess of 60 years. Clark, the daughter of turn-of-the-century copper tycoon and U.S. Sen. William Clark, purchased the home in 1951, but never spent an evening in the mansion..
