Wal-Mart to offer auto insurance

Wal-Mart began to offer auto insurance in 8 states Wednesday morning. The company is providing the insurance coverage inside some Walmart stores, an internet-based with the Walmart website.

The company plans to eventually offer insurance car country, according to Joshua Kazam, Founder of AutoInsurance.com.

“Our business is driven with a resolve for taking services and products that are complex and pricey – and which makes them easy and affordable,” said Daniel Eckert, senior vice president of services for Walmart U.S.

Walmart said it saw an opportunity to help customers find a better method to search for insurance. While 82 percent of Tennesseans shop around online for products and services, only 19 percent comparison shop for auto insurance, according to a recent survey.

“We want to make comparing car insurance much simpler and faster for each Tennessean who would like to save money on their premiums,” said Joshua Kazam, founder of AutoInsurance.com.

Unlike a lead generator, AutoInsurance.com allows customers to compare and purchase real policies on this page.

“Providing our customers with use of a broad assortment – from groceries to tires – at affordable prices as well as in one location is what we’re known for. We’re bringing exactly the same ‘one-stop shopping’ mentality towards the insurance industry with AutoInsurance.com,” Eckert says.

As the exclusive retailer and marketing partner of AutoInsurance.com, Walmart customers will be able to access the service directly from its website at www.walmart.com/autoinsurance.
