Millionaires See Real Estate as Top Investment for 2019 : Report

Millionaires across the U.S. say residential and commercial property is the greatest alternative-asset investment choice for 2019.

One-third of millionaires surveyed inside a new Morgan Stanley study plan to purchase property this season, based on a report by Bloomberg. And 23 percent say they’ll purchase investment trusts.

For 2019, investors picked direct ownership of real estate because the number one option for alternative investment. It was followed by investments in real estate investment trusts.

Wealthy investors are returning to the country’s rebounding real estate market. Property values available market increased 8 % in the year ending January 31, having increased 71 percent since bottoming out in 2009, Bloomberg reports, using data from Green Street Advisors.

Last month, the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index increased through the most in almost eight years.

“Following a year where the Standard & Poor’s Index rose 30 percent, some millionaires are moving money out of traditional, long-only strategies to find outperformance, and turning toward alternatives such as property and equity,” Gary Kaminsky, cigerettes chairman at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Ny, told Bloomberg. “Sophisticated, high-net-worth investors tend to be more concerned about losses.”

After real estate and REITS, collectibles rank as the third-most popular alternative-investment preference for 2019, accompanied by private equity finance and gold and silver.
